This is a Ball Point Pen and Case that I made for Betty's
Dad for Christmas 1998. The pen is made of Cocobola wood and
finished
with boiled linseed oil. The case is made of walnut and is also
finished
with boiled linseed oil. The lid of the case bears a gold plaque
with
her Dad's name on it.
ANGEL PICUTRE AND FRAME
This is an Angel picture that I crossstitched a few years ago and
never got around to framing. Well finally this year I made a
frame for it and finished it for Betty for Christmas of 2005. The
frame is made of Maple with Purpleheart strips separating the segments
and it is turned on a wood lathe. Overall size is 12-1/2" Diameter
and it is 3/4" thick. It is finished with five coats of hand rubbed
clear gloss urethane.
This is a simple trivet I made for Betty to hold a flower
vase
on the diningroom table.
This mirror was made for Baby Sarah for her bedroom. It is made of
red oak and stained with early american stain and has three coats
of hand rubbed urethane finish. In the picture on the left there is
no mirror glass in it yet. Across the top are little figurines of
cats,
dogs, fish and trains separated by beads spelling out her name in
full.
Her first name is also shown in wooden letters immediatley above
the
mirror. Across the bottom are three shaker pegs for hanging items.
This picture shows three picture frames{two-4x6 and one-5x7}
made of red oak and finished with early american stain and three
coats
of urethane.
We have here a set of four wooden coasters in a rack. They are four inches square and 1/2" thick. Each coaster has a 1/4" inlay of walnut around each edge. The set is made of solid oak. Everything is finished with three coats of urethane.
A handy item for any kitchen table is this Salt and Pepper holder with a combined serviette or napkin holder. It is 8" long by 3-1/2" wide by 3-1/2" high. Each shaker sits on a circle of cork that is set into the base deep enough to leave a ridge so the the shakers can't slide off. The holder is made of solid stained oak and finished with urethane.
